New
Advanced Search Capabilities
Searching testimony has never been faster or easier! TextMap still
features intuitive simple word searching across all of your transcripts,
but in TextMap 6, we’ve added new Advanced Search features to help you
pinpoint key testimony and hard-to-find evidence in seconds. Searches
include:
-
Unlimited full text search
-
Proximity searching
-
Wildcard
searching
-
Boolean
-
Synonym “like” searching
-
Antonym “unlike” searching
-
Numeric searching (>,<,=)
The Word
Search feature lets you quickly search for any word and instantly view
the relevant question and answer.
Overlapping Annotations
Have you ever had a situation where your designations were slightly (or
radically) different from opposing counsel’s? And you wanted to be able
to see that visually in your transcripts without wasting time with a
highlighter pen and paper? TextMap 6 is your answer! You are now able to
see at a glance where annotations and/or designations overlap in
TextMap’s easy user interface. Plus, you’ll be able to quickly print or
PDF the transcript with those overlapping annotations/designations
automatically highlighted. And, when opposing counsel sends you the list
of their designations, you’ll be able to quickly import that information
into TextMap! All of these features are available only in TextMap,
giving you a way to quickly analyze your transcripts, and a leg up over
the competition!
Transcript Groups
Another huge time saver in TextMap 6 is the ability to group transcripts
for later searching or reporting. If you need a way to quickly search
only expert witness testimony, TextMap allows you to do that. Or, if you
need to report on only fact witness testimony, you can use the grouping
feature in TextMap. You can create as many transcript groups as you
need, giving you flexibility and control over your data.
New Reports
TextMap’s reports have always been fantastic, but with TextMap 6 we are
truly leagues ahead of any other transcript tool on the market.
Effortlessly create and email polished PDF reports, complete with cover
page, table of contents and customizable logo branding, without need for
a full Acrobat license. You can even PDF all of your transcripts in one
report, with a full Word Index across all transcripts, and all linked
exhibits and files embedded.
And now you can even get a snapshot of your annotations grouped by
associated issue, in an editable format, for inclusion in briefs or
motions. Or, print transcripts with all or some of your annotations
and/or designations automatically highlighted, including automatic
visual indication of where those annotations or designations overlap.
The handy Note Taking report makes it easy to remember and follow up on
important testimony remarks and issues, as well as leverage the input of
team members.
By Popular Demand
One of the biggest requests our clients had when we released TextMap 5.5
was that wished they could send Notes they made in TextMap over to
CaseMap without having to copy and paste them. We listened and now you
can! Information in the Notes field in TextMap automatically go to the
Fact Text in CaseMap.
Hosting case files on a SQL server
The TextMap case files pre-TextMap 6 stored case information in a
database built on the same "chassis" as Microsoft® Access.
TextMap 6 introduces case files that can be created and stored on a SQL
server, making it easier, more robust and scalable to sort out case data
and relationships. Don't worry if your organization does not have a SQL
server. There's no need to buy one and set it up because TextMap 6 still
creates case files that can be stored locally on a regular network
server.
Two types of case files
SQL Cases: created by an administrator using a special Admin
Console. Designated case staff members are assigned to cases by the
administrator.
Local Cases: can be created by anyone running TextMap 6 and saved
to a designated network folder. Case staff can be edited by anyone who's
authorized to do so. The local cases are exactly the same as the
pre-TextMap 6 cases.
Centralized Case and User Administration
The organizations that use TextMap 6 SQL will be able to centrally
control the creation of new SQL cases and assign users to the cases. IT
and Litigation Support professionals have asked us for greater security
for TextMap case files and TextMap 6 delivers. The administrator will be
able to assign specific permissions for case staff. For example, some
users may be able to enter data but not able to create or delete custom
fields.
Better Performance
It's common in larger firms for case files to be shared over a wide area
network (WAN). Complex cases may grow over time to be large files.
TextMap 6 SQL cases will provide faster performance over a WAN and
easily handle large amounts of case data, even if members of the team
are working on the same case file from New York and Los Angeles at the
same time.
